Press Release
On Thursday, May 3, 2007, over 40 CEOs and COOs of business, industry, and ministry met together for the Third Quarterly Thomasville Marketplace Leader Prayer Summit on the National Day of Prayer. These leaders prayed for three hours for each other, their families, our community, state, nation, and world.
Following this intensive prayer summit, many of the same leaders gathered with approximately 250 citizens who gathered for a public service at the First Baptist Church of Thomasville, where they interceded and prayed individually and corporately in each of the same areas. In both the prayer summit and the public service, individual repentance was emphasized, in view of the national call to prayer by the President and Congress, and the key verse being II Chronicles 7:14: “If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” Those in attendance at both gatherings entered into a Greater Thomasville Prayer Covenant, to continue to pray in agreement with one another for God to answer their respective prayers.
The next Marketplace Leader Prayer Summit, which is open to all CEOs or COOs, is scheduled for Friday, August 24, 2007, from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Myrtlewood Plantation Clubhouse. R.S.V.P. should be made c/o Silvis, Ambrose & Lindquist at 229-228-4258 or by email to dinah@silvis-ambrose.com.
