Tax Exempt Contributions Welcome
Community Transformation, Inc., (aka "CTI"), which was founded by the pastors of Thomas County in 2002, to foster cooperation among diverse pastors and churches in matters of common agreement, has now received its 501(c)(3) status, Tax Exempt Number 20-4051259. It’s Board, which includes seventeen (17) senior pastors, the hospice chaplain, and me, would appreciate it if you would let the board and donors of the Community Foundation know that CTI is now available as a designee of tax exempt funds. They hope that donors will desire to direct funds toward an organization founded to by a diverse group of pastors and churches, fostering cooperation among them for the good of the Thomasville area community.
I am currently still the Chairman of the Board of the pastor organization known as Community Transformation, Inc. (CTI), and of its subsidiary, Thomasville Family and Marriage Net, Inc. (TFAM), which received its 501(c)(3) exemption, Tax Exempt Number 20-4051213. It was the existence of CTI which led Georgia Family Council Inc. (GFC) to adopt Thomasville as its pilot program for strengthening marriages and families, because its first criterion was a diverse group of pastors in cooperation. After two (2) years with Thomasville as its pilot, GFC received statewide funding for its Healthy Marriage Initiative, to multiply it across Georgia, using TFAM as a model, for “training trainers” to strengthen marriages and families. www.thomasvillefamily.com
CTI has sponsored and will sponsor the following other projects and events: 1. Annual National Day of Prayer Services, including a pastors only communion service and public prayer and worship; 2. Weekly Wednesday Morning Prayer and breakfast meetings of pastors and ministry leaders; 3. Monthly Wednesday noon lunches for its Board and all other interested pastors; 4. Hurricane Katrina Relief (Salvation Army Pastor is on our Board; Pastor Leon Jones of FEMA is an active participant, though not on the Board); 5. Pastors' Prayer Summit in April 2005 for 26 pastors/spouses; 6. Quarterly Market Place Prayer Summits for Pastors and Community CEOs September 2006, January 2007, May 2007, and August 2007; 7. Long range goals include a shared office with TFAM, at which a shared director would act as an "on the ground website" for people in the community with needs, pointing them toward ministries that can help meet those needs; and 8. CTI also sponsors Worddoers, an interdenominational group headed by Mark Engelmann, which sponsors car washes, practical services to widows and persons in need, free public concerts and movies in the parks, helps with Thanksgiving meals for the needy, etc. Donations to Worddoers will now be tax deductible via Community Transformation, Inc.
The exempt contributions are welcome and may be sent to Community Transformation, Inc. in care of the undersigned until we have a separate office and address.
